Players suspended by the NHL due to the Team Canada Junior scandal and following the investigation: Gary Bettman is going to run out of time before the start of the camps
It has been several weeks since we were told that the NHL is about to reveal the identity of the five players who will be suspended due to the 2018 Team Canada Junior scandal.
Several weeks ago, we were told it was a matter of days and hours, but it continues to drag on.
We obviously understand that this is a very complex case, but time is truly beginning to run out for Gary Bettman.
We were convinced that the announcement would be made before the start of training camps, for obvious reasons, but it seems that will not be the case.
Will the five players in question be able to show up for their respective camps and play the preseason games?
Imagine the distraction for these teams!
Even worse, imagine the rumors exploding if some of the players from the 2018 ECJ edition have to be absent at the beginning of camp (for other reasons).
There could be very damaging consequences.
In short, we are just a few hours away from the start of the NHL training camps, and this will really be something to watch.
We cannot believe that the NHL will let this drag on until the start of the season, but we repeat, time flies very quickly!
It's a huge elephant in the room for several teams, teams that probably know they have a guilty player in their locker room. Not easy.
