In August, a few weeks after acquiring him from the Vegas Golden Knights, the Carolina Hurricanes announced this about Max Pacioretty.
"Max Pacioretty will undergo surgery to repair a torn achilles tomorrow in Raleigh. His expected recovery time is a minimum of six months."

So that put him in a position to possibly return to action in March, and his season was even possibly over (before it could start)

This isn't a regular practice and it obviously doesn't mean Pacioretty will play this week, but it's definitely a major development, an extremely positive sign, and a hint that we could be seeing a huge turnaround in this issue.
Pacioretty could be back in the game much sooner than expected, like a certain
Brad Marchand did earlier this season.
