Major statement from Cole Caufield on his new salary and he makes a significant revelation
During his press conference this afternoon, Montreal Canadiens' forward, Cole Caufield, agreed to discuss his salary, and it spoke volumes about him.
Here's our favorite statement in particular:
Cole Caufield says making a lot of money won't change him as a player: "I would do this for free (play hockey in Montreal)"
He also mentioned that, from the very start of negotiations, it was clear between the Habs and the Caufield camp that Nick Suzuki would remain the highest paid player.
Cole Caufield says it was understood on both sides (his and the team's) that captain Nick Suzuki would remain the highest paid forward on the team.
Caufield is the real deal! He also adds that beyond the money, the most important thing for him was to stay in Montreal long term.
He loves playing in Montreal.
Cole Caufield on not making more money than captain Nick Suzuki: "He's our guy, he's our captain... and it's still a lot of money that I've signed for so I'm not complaining about something like that
Credit to the excellent Priyanta Emrith for the quotes.
And credit to Caufield for his simply perfect statements. It's really a very nice day for Montreal Canadiens fans!
