A few days after being surprisingly left out by his head coach, and a few days after being placed on his team's fourth line, we have just witnessed a complete turnaround for forward Alexis Lafrenière.
Rangers' winger Chris Kreider was injured last night, and to replace him, Gerard Gallant just offered Lafreniere a golden opportunity.
"Gallant has just confirmed that Lafreniere will take Kreider's place on the top line and on the first wave of the power play."
See their new full trios:
Lafreniere - Zibanejad - Kakko
Panarin - Trocheck - Kravtsov
Vesey - Chytil - Goodrow
Blais - Brodzinski - Gauthier
Lafrenière will play alongside the excellent Mika Zibanejad.
Will he be able to seize this opportunity? To be continued, but it could be decisive for the future.
Remember also that he will be on the 1st wave of the power play.
