Major: a surprise 10 million dollar contract for goalie Samuel Montembeault and the Montreal Canadiens?
Last night, during "Hockey Night in Canada" on Sportsnet, journalist Elliotte Friedman provided a major update regarding the Montreal Canadiens.
A significant development concerning Samuel Montembeault.
"Elliotte Friedman just mentioned that the negotiations between the CH and Samuel Montembeault for a contract extension are currently going well.
I expect a 3-4 year contract at an annual salary between 3 and 4 million."

Progress is being made! Discussions are ongoing, and 3-4 million for 3-4 seasons are the figures that have been circulating for a long time.
A four-year contract, at three million dollars per season, seems to be the scenario in sight for Montembeault. (in fact, between 10-12 million in total)
Details will follow.
The plan hasn't changed, and we love it!
