In the last few minutes, it has been announced that former Edmonton Oilers player Fernando Pisani has been hired by the Montreal Canadiens.
He now joins the Habs' scouting staff as an amateur scout.
Pisani, 46 years old, was an 8th round pick by the Oilers in 1996. He accumulated 169 points (87 goals) in 462 career NHL games. He played all but 60 of his games with Edmonton.
The highlight of his career was the 2006 playoffs, when he scored 14 goals in 24 games to lead his team to the Stanley Cup Finals.
However, injuries and an intestinal disease derailed his career.
