Last night, the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, was interviewed on TVA Sports with Jean-Charles Lajoie and the general manager agreed to reveal information on many issues.
Obviously, the case of Carey Price was discussed and Hughes admitted that many elements remain unanswered, which makes the task complex.
However, he also mentioned that the number 31 went to see another specialist for his knee and that we could have an answer as soon as next week. To be followed closely!
As for the other goalies, Kent Hughes had this to say:
"Jake has been very good for us between injuries. He's played like a number one goalie, but in the past he's never had a chance to establish himself that way. Samuel has had some very good games, but we lack evidence that he can be a number one in the NHL." - Kent Hughes
Another topic that has come up and is getting a lot of attention right now is the Martin St. Louis contract. The two sides do seem to be heading towards a deal sooner, rather than later.
"I hope it will be in the next few days. We're in discussions on the contract," Hughes confirmed."
So Hughes admits here that he's having intense discussions right now to sort it all out.
Among other issues discussed: the Shea Weber contract trade, the lottery for the upcoming draft, and potential additions.
