Over the past few days, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes has been on a generous media tour and has answered numerous questions from reporters and hosts.
In particular, he emphasized an element that he discussed during his end-of-season review: the potential trade of
Jeff Petry.
"We're going to trade Jeff Petry if we're in a position to do so without hurting the Canadiens." - Kent Hughes, who then added that he will trade Petry when the right offer comes along
On the other hand, see the most interesting takeaway here, in my opinion:
"General manager Kent Hughes says that if Jeff Petry is traded, he will look to replace him with a veteran defenseman." - Priyanta Emrith
So he agreed to step forward, and announce his colors, on what he's aiming for as a replacement for Petry, should Petry leave. Wow!
Which veteran would he target? Here is a list of 10 potential names that the Montreal Canadiens could possibly acquire.
