One of the names of the hour, among the Montreal Canadiens' prospects, is definitely Joshua Roy, who is really having an exceptional year.
Roy has now amassed 20 points (!) in only 9 games in the current QMJHL playoffs. (1st in the league) And that's not counting his memorable regular season, in which he scored 119 points (51 goals) in 66 games.
Remember that this young man was drafted in the fifth round, 150th overall. This is truly incredible and a great deal for Montreal.
Among the reasons for his fall in the draft (and his low draft rank), some have mentioned his questionable work ethic and his sometimes negative attitude. True or not? No idea.
However, all that definitely seems to be long gone for Roy, who has worked very hard (on himself and his game) and his efforts are paying off:
"Joshua Roy the @CanadiensMTL prospect wins the Paul-Dumont Trophy given to the personality of the year in the #QMJHL. He beats out goalie Eve Gascon who played two games with the #Olympiques" - Stéphane Leroux
Wow! Personality of the year, best scorer in the league, this is very very promising for the future.
Congratulations Joshua!
