This Monday morning was the traditional golf tournament of the Montreal Canadiens. For this occasion, we had the chance to meet the 31st captain in the history of the organization, Nick Suzuki.
This announcement also followed the announcement of the two assistant captains, Brendan Gallagher and Joel Edmundson. The latter made an eloquent comment that the rebuild was last year and that the CH has "no excuse for not making the playoffs".
An important statement!
According to the veteran defenseman, once in the playoffs, anything can happen. He knows very well what he's talking about as he won the Stanley Cup in 2019 with a team that was in last place in the league at mid-season, the St. Louis Blues, in addition to making it to the Grand Finals in 2021 with the CH, which was by no means among the favorite teams.
It will be interesting to see if the CH can really surprise the hockey world this season. One thing is certain, for the players, the rebuild is really a thing of the past.
