Last Friday, Ian Laperrière, who is a good friend of Daniel Brière and who works in the same organization, the Philadelphia Flyers, was on the On jase podcast to talk about Brière and the Canadiens.
Then, one thing in particular made "Lappy" laugh about the speculation surrounding Daniel Brière. He hears the journalists talking, he didn't want to name them, of course. In short, he finds it funny that they practically call Brière a mitten. He also rebelled against this with aplomb!
"Daniel would be good because he is soft. You know, they were talking as if Daniel was a mitten. I'll tell you one thing, Daniel Brière is the last mitt you can have on earth. He's 4 and 2, and he weighs 150 pounds, but he played 900 games in the NHL, and the way he played, he's not a mitten!" - Laperrière
According to Laperrière, Brière doesn't let himself be walked over, then if he has something to say in a meeting, he will stand up and deliver his opinion. Brière is an excellent hockey man, very composed, with character, and if he gets the job with the Canadiens, it is not because he is soft, far from it!
Words to dot the "i's" and cross the "t's".
