Georges Laraque reveals the real reason Arber Xhekaj was demoted to the AHL
While many are still wondering what the real reason behind the demotion of young defenseman Arber Xhekaj to the American Hockey League is, Georges Laraque has made a statement that could be very telling.
According to him, Martin St-Louis does not like physical play.
See his response, regarding why Xhekaj and Michael Pezzetta are not playing:
"Because he (Martin St-Louis) doesn't like it, he doesn't like physical play.
Martin doesn't like it, there are coaches who don't like it.. He may not recognize the importance of having physical players in the lineup.
He doesn't recognize that, it's not the kind of player he was. I don't know, but it's not logical! At a minimum, if Xhekaj is not there, Pezzetta should play in every game!"- Georges Laraque
