Forward Moving from Montreal Canadiens to Boston Bruins: Interesting Statement from Anthony Richard
In the past few hours, we learned that forward Anthony Richard is going to switch from the Montreal Canadiens to the Boston Bruins for the next season.
This is news that sparked numerous reactions because he was loved by the fans and because he seems to truly have potential.
New information about Richard's departure
Recently appearing in a radio interview, Richard made it clear that he was free to choose whether to sign or not with his former agent, Kent Hughes.
Basically, the Montreal Canadiens had an offer for him on the table, but he made the decision to try his luck with the Boston Bruins because he had better chances of earning a regular spot in the NHL there.
After all, the Bruins currently only have nine regular forwards under contract, and they have the worst prospect pool in the NHL.
So, we can really understand Richard's decision.
He made his decision believing that his best chances of playing in the NHL were in Boston, due to the many young players who will join the Rocket this season.
"I negotiated with the Canadiens during the season. I could have stayed. But with all the young ones coming, I believed I had better chances of playing in the NHL with the Bruins." -Anthony Richard on 98.5 FM.
