The Montreal Canadiens were on the ice this morning heading into Tuesday's game against the San Jose Sharks. Dominique Ducharme stirred the soup with his lines this morning, as the Habs has a brand new third trio.
This one is composed of newcomers Mike Hoffman and Adam Brooks, who will play with Brendan Gallagher. Jake Evans was absent from practice this morning as he is undergoing treatment.
The first two trios will likely remain intact. The fourth unit will consist of Artturi Lehkonen, Mathieu Perreault and Joel Armia.
On defense, we can see Sami Niku alongside Brett Kulak. The young Finnish defenseman will inevitably take Chris Wideman's place in the lineup against the Sharks.
UPDATE
The first power play unit will have a whole new look as well. Remember, the Canadiens has been slow to find success with the man advantage.
The second wave looks like this:
Chris Wideman is piloting the second wave of the power play, so it's not clear if Sami Niku will take his place in the lineup. To be continued...
