Carter Hart had a pitiful 2021 season, even getting a rest period, courtesy of his head coach, Alain Vigneault. At the end of the day, Carter Hart had the following numbers: 9 wins in 27 games, a blistering 3.67 GAA and an efficiency percentage of .877. That's a staggering number, but don't forget that he suffered a major knee injury, which certainly slowed him down.

On the other hand, despite such a difficult season, the 22-year-old goaltender, who is seen as the next Carey Price, signed a new three-year deal that will pay him an average of nearly $4 million per campaign. The 48th overall pick in 2016 just completed his three-season entry-level contract.
It's important to note, however, that Hart's mindset was starting to turn around at the end of the season, as he had four points out of a possible 10 while posting a .910 efficiency percentage. Going into the 2021-22 campaign, Hart will be assisted by veteran Martin Jones. Jones signed a one-year pact on July 28 worth $2 million. The two masked men should make a good pair in 2021-22.
All in all, Chuck Fletcher, the Flyers' general manager, has full confidence in the potential of his young goaltender, who remains the future of the organization. The bridge contract is fair for both parties, so let's hope Carter Hart bounces back.
