Many Canadiens fans were undoubtedly disappointed that Joshua Roy had been cut by the organization in recent days.

This decision caused quite a stir, especially given that he played only two preseason games, and many felt he deserved a bit more time at the Canadiens' camp.
That being said, while most experts anticipated that the young Quebec prospect would be sent to the Laval Rocket before the season began, it's entirely possible that the CH might recall him during the season.
This is, in fact, a prediction from a journalist covering the team's beat on Montreal radio waves.
During his daily appearance on BPM Sports, Renaud Lavoie stated that he expects to see Joshua Roy play games in a Canadiens jersey in 2023-2024.
"I expect to see him with the Canadiens this season. He will come at some point because we will need a guy like Joshua Roy."

The journalist believes that the Canadiens' prospect had a good camp, but did not do enough to convince the team's management.
"He would have had to turn it up a notch for the Canadiens' management to think: we can't cut him just yet."

Such a statement is likely to please fans who would have preferred to see number 97 stay a bit longer during training camp.
As we know, injuries are a constant in a hockey season, and if bad luck were to strike Martin St-Louis's team again, as it did in 2022-2023, we might see the young man from Beauce in the tricolore uniform sooner than expected.
