Big statement about Joshua Roy following his performances at the world juniors

With his two-goal, two-assist performance in Canada's 6-2 semi-final win over the United States, Joshua Roy became the all-time leading Quebec scorer at the World Junior Hockey Championship, tied with Jonathan Huberdeau.

And with his masterful assist in the grand final, he broke the record all by himself!

Not only did he complete a trio with phenom Connor Bedard and Logan Stankoven very well, the Sherbrooke Phoenix forward was used in every way and as reported by Samuel Doiron, of Habsolumentfan.com, his assistant coach with Team Canada had nothing but good words for him.

Speaking on 98.5, Stéphane Julien praised the merits of the Quebec forward and let's just say that it bodes well for Habs fans.

As we know, Roy was a fifth-round pick of the CH in the 2021 NHL draft and is the late pick among Canada's players.

Will we see him on the ice at the Bell Centre next year?

It's hard to say for now because despite his excellent performance at this year's World Junior Championship, there are some youngsters who are probably above him in the hierarchy of the Habs' top prospects. We can think of his teammate Owen Beck with the Canadian team for example.

However, there is a good chance that thanks to his performance at this year's world championship, Roy will be in the spotlight when the next training camp opens in September.
