When Kent Hughes was questioned by some journalists following the transaction that made Shea Weber go to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for Evgeny Dadonov, the Habs GM mentioned that for the moment, there were no other transactions imminent.
But as we know, things can sometimes change pretty quickly in the hockey world and as reported by Marco Normandin, of Habsolumentfan.com, we may very well see another trade soon with the Habs.
According to Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now, the New York Rangers are reportedly interested in defenseman Jeff Petry. The Dallas Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings have all been rumored in recent weeks, and it appears that Kent Hughes may be able to get an interesting return for #26.
Although Petry requested a trade last fall and still has three years left on his contract at $6.25 million per year, having four teams interested in his services could finally pay off for the Habs, who want to part with the American defenseman.
