The Canadians were back at practice today, and there is several elements to note, in particular the absences of Christian Dvorak and Joel Armia, who benefited from a day of treatments and who will be out tomorrow.
On the other hand, on the side of very good news, there is the status of Ben Chiarot. The defenseman is on the injured reserve list but is expected to leave it very soon.
He practiced this morning, with the regulars, as he has done since Monday, and he seems to be in great shape. Chiarot, who picked up a minor lower-body injury last weekend, looks 100% ready to go.
With the trade deadline fast approaching, will he be in uniform tomorrow, will he still be with the Habs tomorrow?
It sure would be pointless to risk another injury in his case and affect his value on the trade market.
Head coach Martin St-Louis said in a press conference that he expected Chiarot to come off the injured reserve list tomorrow and be able to to face the Islanders.
TRADE COMING?
Recall what Renaud Lavoie mentioned earlier this week on TVA Sports:
«If it hadn't been for this lower-body injury suffered on Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens defenseman Ben Chiarot would have already left Montreal through a trade. Possibly before Tyler Toffoli, who was shipped to Calgary Monday noon." - Renaud Lavoie
He's not injured there anymore, so stay tuned.
«In my opinion (if he was fully healthy) I'm pretty sure he would have been traded by now. - Renaud Lavoie
So it will be interesting to watch.
