There were many reactions in the last few minutes when we learned of the emergency recall of young goalie Cayden Primeau.
Especially since several experts, such as Patrick Lalime, Stéphane Fiset and Marc Denis, have sounded the alarm by stating that Carey clearly seems uncomfortable and uncomfortable in front of his net. (supporting images)
We wondered if he had aggravated his injury and at the same time, we learn that he gets a night off and that Primeau will be Montembeault's substitute tonight.
For details on the experts' concerns:
It's clear why there are a lot of questions.
There, in the last few seconds, head coach Martin St-Louis answered questions about Carey and announced what was next.
He confirmed that Samuel Montembeault gets the start tonight. We also learned that Price will not be traveling with his teammates to start the week, ouch.
"Carey Price will not make the trip to NY, but could play on Friday, which is the last game of the season." - Renaud Lavoie At least there's hope for Friday, but hey, let's wait and see. It's bad news to hear that he won't be traveling, that's for sure.
Martin St-Louis called it a simple rest, but it seems obvious that there is a problem here. For Carey to need to take a few days off (and a trip off), there's something here.
"I don't think there's a problem with the injury, just a lot of action lately." - Martin St. Louis
You be the judge if you consider this to be concerning.
