The Sheriff took some reps on the second wave so it's not yet 100% confirmed that he will be pulled from the lineup and sent to the stands, but it looks like that's what's going to happen.
Ouch.
For sure, it's a new worrying development for Xhekaj fans and it proves once again, unfortunately, that it's over for him getting guaranteed games in the NHL.
Last season, before his injury, it wasn't even a question and it was 100% certain that Xhekaj would be in uniform for all games.
His spot in the lineup was guaranteed.
This season, it's clearly a whole different story and it's a shame.
