Today, we just learned some great news about the young goalie who was supposed to be the Toronto Maple Leafs' goalie of the future, Ian Scott.
Scott, 23 years old, just took the hockey world by surprise and announced his retirement.
He has decided to stop playing hockey because of long battles with chronic injuries. That's why he didn't receive his qualifying offer this summer, but let's remember that he was very promising for the Leafs a few years ago.
His last full season was in 2018-2019 with the Prince Albert Raiders, where he was phenomenal and maintained a 1.83 goals-against-average and .932 save percentage in 49 games.
Last season he played one game in the ECHL and in 2020-2021 he played five games in the ECHL and one in the AHL. Clearly, his body has given up on him and it's a shame for him and the Leafs.
