Announcement from the Montreal Canadiens today: mission accomplished regarding goaltender Carey Price and his contract on the LTIR following Dvorak's injury
In a press conference earlier today, the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, announced important news concerning his forward Christian Dvorak.
"Christian Dvorak will not be available until the month of November, Kent Hughes tells us."
- Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports
This explains why Kent Hughes will evidently manage to place Carey Price on the regular season LTIR, and not on the off-season LTIR. (which is very positive for the Canadiens)
"This completely changes the salary cap management strategy of the Montreal Canadiens.
They can now start the season with Dvorak on the LTIR and exceed the cap by nearly 4.45 million dollars (his salary). They can then place Price on the LTIR and add 10.5 million dollars of cap space."

Solid! This is genius!
That was Kent Hughes' goal, to be able to place Carey on the regular LTIR, and it evidently looks like mission accomplished.
