It's one of the topics that continues to generate a lot of debate among Montreal Canadiens fans: who will be the club's famous next captain?

Clearly, Shea Weber is gone and will soon be replaced. There seem to be several prime candidates among the players, such as Joel Edmundson, Nick Suzuki, Brendan Gallagher and Josh Anderson.

However, a new movement is taking shape. Many observers and CH fans believe that the organization has already found its captain.

So, there is no need to rush to name a new one.

As my colleague Jeff Drouin (Fanadiens.com) reports, that's exactly the message journalist Anthony Martineau sent yesterday on TVA Sports.

See his explanation:

As Martineau aptly mentioned, the St. Louis players see him as their true leader, their true captain... And that makes all the difference!

Even yesterday, Joel Edmundson "went to bat" to absolve his head coach of any responsibility. (following the game and the CH's disappointing performance yesterday) The captain of the Montreal Canadiens, right now, is Martin St-Louis.

On the other hand, a guy like Joel Edmundson could be a very good ally, along with his head coach, to lead this club.

A captain behind the bench and a captain with the official title on his jersey. Who would be your choice?
