By stopping 97 shots in the last two games, Sam Montembeault is rendering a great service to the Habs who must deprive themselves of their first two goaltenders. When Montembeault showed up in Montreal after being tossed by the Florida Panthers, he had no idea he was going to see so much action.
While she was in the media, Chantal Machabée and her colleagues had nicknamed the new goalkeeper of the CH «Dikembe» in honour of Dikembe Mutombo since the two athletes have family names that look very similar. Mutombo is a former NBA player who excelled in defence and blocking shots.
With the most recent performances of the CH goalkeeper, he deserves this little nickname.
