23 Players Hit Waivers, Giving Canadiens Plenty of Options Including a Very Interesting One

We've had a lot of action on the NHL waiver wire over the past few minutes, notably involving Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
Several players placed on the National Hockey League waiver wire
But there are also several other intriguing names.
That said, the biggest surprise here is without a doubt Zac Jones.
He's a defenseman the New York Rangers absolutely did not want to trade not so long ago - not even for a star player like
J.T. Miller - and now here he is on waivers (available completely for free).
Personally, I consider him better than someone like
Jayden Struble, so this will really be a fascinating case to follow.
Zac Jones, 24 years old, is a very complete (and tough) defenseman, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 190 pounds.
Last season, he was on the New York Rangers' first power-play unit when
Adam Fox went down with an injury.. Just imagine!
Jones has collected 28 career NHL points.
If ever Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens are interested in him - perhaps instead of a player like Struble - they hold the sixteenth claim spot (the 16th waiver priority, based on last season's standings).
