2018 Team Canada World Juniors Scandal: Immediate suspension announced for several NHL-known players on a temporary basis by Hockey Canada
It has now been over a year since the 2018 Team Canada Junior scandal erupted, following revelations by Rick Westhead, a journalist from TSN.
In a published report, Westhead mentions that all the players from this 2018 Team Canada Junior roster are officially suspended (temporarily) from international events, until the conclusion of the investigation.
This includes Robert Thomas, Cale Makar, Jordan Kyrou, Carter Hart, Dillon Dube, Sam Steel, Max Comtois, Tyler Steenburgen, Drake Batherson, Michael McLeod, Boris Katchouk, and company.
«Earlier, Hockey Canada made the decision that until the investigation and the decision-making process on the alleged incident of 2018 are concluded, no player from the 2018 junior national team will be considered for Team Canada participation.
This has been communicated to Team Canada's management group at the IIHF Men's World Championship.»
While we are still waiting for an announcement from the NHL, all signs thus point to the possibility that the investigation might continue to drag on.
