Johnny Gaudreau's wife, Meredith Gaudreau, has once again shown immense courage.
In front of hundreds of people, and knowing it would be seen by millions of fans, she stepped up to the microphone to make a statement.

Here is part of her speech, where she shared messages for Sean Monahan and Kevin Hayes.
She wanted to thank them for all the support they provided to Johnny, both at the start and throughout his career in the NHL.
«Know you made John the most excited for hockey that I've ever seen when you signed in Columbus. And I'm heartbroken for you that he cannot be with you on the ice. I'm rooting for you every single night and I know John is too, as your special guardian angel now.»

It's clear that Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau shared an extremely special bond.
You can feel that Hayes, Monahan, and Gaudreau were truly like three brothers, and it's no surprise that Monahan signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets this summer.
They too are currently going through a terrible ordeal.

Johnny was about to become a father for the third time when tragedy struck, and now his wife will be left with three children without a father.
We are absolutely speechless. This entire story is a true nightmare.
