While some analysts were sending him to Europe, with the season he just had, not only will Drouin definitely be back in the NHL next year, but he will also be entitled to a nice salary increase.
Drouin, who signed a one-year contract worth $825,000 last summer, collected 56 points in 79 games this season, including 19 goals.
He added 3 points in 3 playoff games and was a point-per-game player for most of the season. He was really excellent.
Now that Drouin's contract is over, and now that the Avalanche's season is over, many are wondering if he played his last game there, especially because Colorado might have difficulty affording his salary increase.
