It has been a season of three phases for the Quebec forward and former Montreal Canadien Jonathan Drouin.
First, there was his very difficult start to the season, when he was outright scratched from the lineup and sent to the stands several times during the first few weeks.
Then, they gave him a second chance on the 1st line, with star players Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen, a chance that Drouin really seized. (he gathered 19 points in 19 games)
However, in recent weeks, Jonathan's production has started to decline again. (he has gathered 7 points in his last 19 games)

Drouin has shown very good things to his bosses, he has shown his potential, but he will now need to show better consistency.
The Avalanche remove Jonathan Drouin from the 1st line!
Due to his recent failures (no points in his last four games and two points in his last eight games), Drouin is penalized.
For the first time in several weeks, he was separated from his good friend Nathan MacKinnon, unfortunately for him.
"Artturi Lehkonen and Jonathan Drouin have swapped places. Lehkonen is now with MacKinnon and Rantanen, Drouin is with Johansen and Parise." - Corey Masisak
Obviously, this is a huge "drop" in terms of the quality of line mates for Jonathan Drouin. (going from MacKinnon/Rantanen to Johansen/Parise)
We should expect to see his production slow down once again, and it's sad because things were going so well for him a few weeks ago.
In the end, this season, Drouin (28 years old) accumulates 32 points in 57 games, which is a pace of 45 points / 82 games.
He was at 42 points / 82 games last season with the Montreal Canadiens.
