As the dust settles following the highly publicized story involving former Montreal Canadien forward Corey Perry, the Chicago Blackhawks have just made an announcement.
Quietly, Perry was a leader there and also served as an assistant captain.
Jason Dickinson Replaces Perry and Becomes New Assistant Captain of the Blackhawks
Since Perry's contract was terminated, the Blackhawks waited before naming a replacement, but now a new player is wearing a letter.
The organization confirmed this via a press release in the last few hours.
Seth Jones, Connor Murphy, Nick Foligno, and Jason Dickinson will now wear the "A" there.

Dickinson, 28, is a first-round pick of the Dallas Stars in 2013 (29th overall) and has been a pleasant surprise in Chicago this season.
He has been one of their best forwards, accumulating 14 points in 29 games, including 9 goals. He also has a positive differential of +3, a rare commodity with the Blackhawks.
Regarding Perry, it's worth noting that earlier this week, Elliotte Friedman appeared to imply that Perry's controversial action might not be entirely irredeemable, as understood by many. This perspective has led to speculation that the NHLPA might consider appealing his contract termination.
