trade: a big rumour involving Joel Armia has just been confirmed
In recent hours, renowned insider David Pagnotta has confirmed an interesting rumor involving Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
He seriously tried to trade Joel Armia this summer.
There were extensive discussions and negotiations to finalize a deal, especially on the draft floor, but to no avail.
We also learn that it's not over. The discussions resumed this week!
"The Canadiens have recalled Joel Armia from the AHL. They tried to trade him this summer, and I'm told they have resumed negotiations to finalize a trade this week (they're working on it). We'll see if any ground is gained. He still has one year left on his contract with a salary of $3.4 million."
David Pagnotta
A story to follow, and don't be surprised if Armia is traded this week.
Armia, 30 years old, is a winger who stands 6 feet 3 inches and weighs 216 pounds.
He was drafted in the 1st round in 2011 by the Buffalo Sabres and has accumulated 153 points (75 goals) in his NHL career. (plus 5 points, including 4 goals, in 4 games with the Laval Rocket this season)
