We have a major development regarding trade rumors involving center Nazem Kadri and the Montreal Canadiens.
Kadri's name has resurfaced in trade discussions, and Montreal is involved in the file.
According to what's circulating, the Montreal Canadiens are indeed among the teams that have officially tested the waters and have officially called the Flames.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are also said to be in the mix.
"Dreger on Insider Trading: "There is on going conversation between Craig Conroy and Nazem Kadri's camp, now that doesn't mean anything is imminent. Nazem Kadri wants to do what is best for the Calgary Flames, but he also wants to chase and win a Stanley Cup"
At 35 years old, Kadri remains a center who draws attention whenever a team is looking to improve down the middle.
He stands 6 feet tall, weighs 185 pounds, and was drafted 7th overall in 2009.

What's generating buzz is his complete profile, but especially his track record.
In 2021-22, he exploded for 87 points in 71 games with Colorado, then added 15 points in 16 playoff games during the Stanley Cup run.
In Calgary, he's viewed as a veteran still capable of producing, even when things aren't clicking around him.
And when the Flames are far down the standings, the temptation to sell off pieces always becomes more real, especially as the trade deadline approaches.
On the Canadiens' side, the interest is easy to understand, even without diving into big theories.
An established center can truly work wonders for a team's success, especially when you want to avoid putting everything on the shoulders of a single line.
That said, it's not just a hockey question, it's a matter of planning.
Kadri is under contract through the summer of 2029 at $7 million per season, and he has already made it clear that he wants to chase another Stanley Cup.
Montreal therefore has to decide if the timing is right, and if the asking price is really worth it.
