Laroque, 22 years old, is a right-handed defenseman, 6-foot-2 and 201 pounds, who was a fourth-round pick of the Sharks in 2021.
He has played 12 games in the AHL, recording three points with the Sharks' affiliate team.
Trading Price's contract frees up just over $4.56M in cap space for Hughes and the Canadiens, while the Sharks now sit with more than $9.2M available.
Shoutout to San Jose journalist Sheng Peng, who pretty much nailed it with his trade proposal.
At first glance, this seems to be an excellent trade for Kent Hughes and the Canadiens.
Details to follow.
