Kent Hughes has never hidden the fact that he's aware he can't keep three goaltenders with the Canadiens for much longer, and he clearly mentioned that he doesn't want to lose Cayden Primeau on waivers.

A trade involving one of the three goaltenders thus seems inevitable. On this topic, insider Kevin Weekes, who has several major "scoops" to his credit, especially concerning goaltenders, just posted this:

"Considering injuries and some other factors, some teams might need goaltending help, and some teams have 3. The youngest of these options is Cayden Primeau, from the Montreal Canadiens.

At 23 years old, there are positives; he played in the WJC, AHL, and was dominant in the NCAA."

- Kevin Weekes

It's intriguing, especially coming from an insider who doesn't typically cover the Montreal Canadiens.

It's also worth noting that Weekes doesn't often make posts like this unless he has privileged information.

So, it certainly piques curiosity.

Clearly, his sources have confirmed that NHL teams are currently hunting for trade deals to acquire a goaltender, and apparently, Cayden Primeau seems to be a goaltender attracting a lot of attention.

Don't be surprised if Kent Hughes announces a trade involving a goaltender soon. He has never been afraid to make trades.

Stay tuned!
