A big trade involving two well-known players has just been canceled and we have all the details
As we know, Anthony Mantha has faced some difficulties since his arrival with the Washington Capitals.
The forward has been injured more often than not in recent years and let's just say he is not having a great start to the season with only two points in eight games.

According to Sportsnet's insider Elliotte Friedman, a trade involving the Capitals and the Vancouver Canucks recently fell through, and it involved Mantha and forward Conor Garland.
However, due to his salary, the Canucks were simply unable to fit him into their lineup.

Just like the Capitals with Mantha, the Canucks are trying by all means to trade Garland to another team, but the organization seems unable to find a team with which to conclude a transaction because just like the Caps player, he has only gathered two small points since the beginning of the season.
Mantha is in his last contract year with an annual salary of $5.7 million while Garland has two more seasons with a salary slightly less than Mantha, at $4.95 million per year.
With such a trade, both teams would undoubtedly have resolved two hot issues, but in the end, the Capitals would have had to deal with Conor Garland for two more seasons, which may not be in the team's medium and long-term plans.
It will therefore be interesting to follow these two cases over the coming weeks and to see if Kent Hughes might be tempted by one of these two players.
