Gary Bettman and the NHL announced today that Montreal Canadiens defenseman Kaiden Guhle will face a hearing from the Department of Player Safety.
We spoke about it this morning but it is now confirmed:
After an unnoticed slash from the bench on Travis Konecny of the Philadelphia Flyers last night, the young defenseman will be punished.
Montreal's Kaiden Guhle will have a hearing today for slashing Philadelphia's Travis Konecny
After being hit solidly in the corner by Travis Konecny, Kaiden Guhle decided to retaliate against Konecny by striking him with his stick while he was sitting on his team's bench (the Canadiens' bench) and as his opponent was passing in front of him.
Yes, it's an illegal action according to NHL rules.
