The Montreal Canadiens draft Ivan Demidov
After weeks of waiting, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens have finally made their first pick in the 2024 draft.
They have chosen the young forward Ivan Demidov.
This is a major selection for the future of the organization, adding to Juraj Slafkovsky, David Reinbacher, Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, Kirby Dach, Lane Hutson, and others.
It's starting to become a solid core.
Demidov is extremely talented and is undoubtedly the best player in this draft session (after Celebrini). Demidov, 18, is a 6-foot, 190-pound winger. He has amassed 60 points in 30 games this season in St. Petersburg.
More details will follow.
