Amazing news for Gary Bettman regarding the NHL draft
We had been waiting for this highly anticipated 2023 NHL Draft. Apart from Connor Bedard, who was the undisputed number one pick, we had no idea who would be chosen in what order, and we were not disappointed by the twists and turns.
Adam Fantilli was expected to go second overall, but Leo Carlsson took that spot instead. Matvei Michkov was projected to be in the top 5, but David Reinbacher surpassed him.
For ESPN and other networks, it was a record-breaking day.

This is excellent news for the NHL and the specialized channels, although not very surprising. The excitement was real, as it was the most promising draft in a long time.
