I find that Jake Evans is truly a useful player for Martin St-Louis' squad. He is a player who can perform in both zones and is an important piece for the Canadiens.

Since the beginning of the season, he's been playing so well, and there's been a lot of talk about a contract extension with the Habs.
Renaud Lavoie, on BPM Sports, even said there's a marriage on the way.
This means that Jake and the team clearly want to work toward a new contract.

Elliotte Friedman confirms the rumor that Jake Evans wants to sign a new contract with the Montreal Canadiens

It makes sense because Jake Evans is doing everything to help the team.
He plays on the 4th or 3rd line, but he could score more than 50 points this season if he keeps up this pace.
He is incredible on the penalty kill and always gives 110% on the ice. Additionally, he's one of the quiet leaders of the group.
He's a guy who inspires others without saying much in the locker room. He's an example for the team.
Kent Hughes clearly has to decide if he wants to keep Evans for the future or trade him to get significant picks or young players.
In my opinion, it's clear that he should be kept, but at a reasonable price. He helps the team now and could be even better in the future.
I'm looking forward to hearing more in the coming weeks.
Everything being said these days indicates that Jake Evans has a really good chance of staying with the Habs.
