We just witnessed a highly interesting scene live from Brossard, and it involves forward Patrik Laine.

The player who was acquired last month in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets was on the ice, and he was in very good company.

Did we just see Martin St-Louis' first power play unit in action? It would certainly be the logical choice.

Martin St-Louis' first power play unit revealed today in Brossard?

That's what many believe.

"A glimpse of the Canadiens' first power play unit?" - RDS

Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, Juraj Slafkovsky, Patrik Laine, and Mike Matheson spent over an hour on the ice today with Adam Nicholas, already starting to work on the power play.

Wow.

Seeing them start this early is almost unheard of. Check out the footage shared by RDS:

Things are looking good for October, and the season as a whole.

Clearly, the Canadiens players have made it their mission to have a strong power play this year, and they're already working on their chemistry.

With Cole Caufield on one side and Patrik Laine on the other, along with potential rotations and permutations, it could be quite something to watch.

Plus, Nick Suzuki and Juraj Slafkovsky are far from having weak shots themselves.

Let's not forget that today marked the opening of the Montreal Canadiens' rookie camp, even though most of the players on the ice were veterans.

In any case, they're eager, and that says a lot.
