Struble, possibly due to overconfidence, made a poor decision at the blue line and made things worse afterward by taking a terrible penalty - one that directly allowed the Kraken to start their comeback.
Here is the goal by Montour following Struble's penalty:

Things got a little tense on the Canadiens' bench.
"Goal by the Kraken on a 5-on-4 power play cuts the lead to 3-1 during a penalty to Jayden Struble.
Martin St-Louis gave Struble a long look when he returned to the bench after the goal. Before his penalty, Struble tried to make a play at the blue line instead of dumping the puck deep into the zone."

It's exactly that kind of risky play from Jayden Struble that could open the door for a young player like Arber Xhekaj to move back up the depth chart.
For both Xhekaj and Struble, the young defensemen just need to keep their game simple and play to their strengths.
Xhekaj needs to play physical and trust himself, while Struble shouldn't try to play like
Cale Makar.
Arber Xhekaj, 24 years old, is a 6-foot-4, 240-pound left-handed defenseman with 1 point in 10 games this season, 15 penalty minutes, and a -2 rating.
Jayden Struble, 24 years old, is a 6-foot, 207-pound left-handed defenseman with 2 points in 7 games this season, 2 penalty minutes, and a +3 rating.
