This is a story I hate, but one I can't really avoid anymore with the Montreal Canadiens.

For weeks, I've avoided talking about defenseman Alexandre Carrier's struggles, because I like this individual so much, and I appreciate him as an athlete, and it was such a great story (with the trade and everything), but now it's becoming hard not to talk about it.
Alexandre Carrier is absolutely not the same player he was last season, and his statistics during the recent Western road trip say a lot.
"Alex Carrier has now been on the ice for a team worst 5 even-strength goals against during this 3 game road trip."

- HabsOnReddit

He really needs to get it together.

But what is happening with Alexandre Carrier?

Unfortunately, with Adam Engstrom and Arber Xhekaj playing well, Carrier now needs to be part of the discussion to come out of the lineup once Jayden Struble is ready to return.
Carrier has been completely unrecognizable for a few weeks now for Martin St-Louis' group.
Habs coach Marty St. Louis today on Alex Carrier, who admitted that he hasn't personally been satisfied with his season:

"I would just tell him to keep going. Alexandre hasn't forgotten how to play hockey. When your confidence goes down a bit, your reading of the game isn't as elevated or as effective. You just gotta take a deep breath. Just stay calm and go out there and play, because I love him as a player."
And you, what is your opinion on this?
Alexandre Carrier, 29 years old, from Quebec City (Quebec), is a right-shot defenseman standing 5-foot-11 and 174 pounds, selected in the 4th round by the Nashville Predators in 2015 - 115th overall.
He has 8 points in 24 games this season, with 10 penalty minutes and a negative plus-minus of -10.
Last season, following the trade, he recorded 18 points in 51 games, with a positive plus-minus of +4.
