Kent Hughes Shares Update on Kirby Dach's Health as Canadiens Prepare Offensive Replacement

We have some worrying news in the Kirby Dach situation, and it comes directly from general manager Kent Hughes.
Let's recall that when his surgery was announced last February, the Montreal Canadiens stated that Dach would be ready for the start of training camp in 2025.
Today, judging by what Kent Hughes just told the NHL's official website, that will clearly not be the case.
This seems to confirm that Dach will (once again) not have had a full summer of preparation, and he might not even get a true 100% training camp.
Statement from Kent Hughes regarding Kirby Dach's health status
No, this doesn't sound good
"Our hope is that he's ready to go, either start of the season or some point early in the fall," Hughes said. "But we certainly have no intention of rushing him in any way. We need to get Kirby back when Kirby is ready to be back physically and then be very mindful and careful with his return to play."

No, he really doesn't sound like a GM confident that Dach will start the season healthy.
"So not only is the GM unable to say that he'll be 100% for camp, but he also can't confirm that he'll start the season.
He 'hopes' he'll be ready.
That makes us believe that no, Dach hasn't recovered from his knee injury, right?"

They mention
Alex Newhook's name, while others have also brought up
Oliver Kapanen, but it's clear that the Canadiens will have a replacement forward (chosen from camp) ready to step in if Kirby Dach misses the start of the season, especially if his absence is prolonged.
Who will that replacement be? Stay tuned
