The time for decisions has arrived for the Montreal Canadiens, who now find themselves with a surplus on offense.

With Kirby Dach and Jake Evans back in the lineup, with Patrik Laine expected to return to action any hour now, Alexandre Texier is also present in Brossard for the morning skate!
There is a major logjam up front.

Alexandre Texier is already back on the ice, live from Brossard!

This is shaping up nicely!
Wednesday morning in Brossard, the Canadiens indeed woke up with a true surplus on offense.
Kirby Dach and Jake Evans have returned to action, and that already changes the picture.
At the same time, Patrik Laine is very close to coming back-so close that it's now being measured in hours.
When three names return almost at the same time, you know someone is eventually going to be watching the game from the press box.
And now, another piece is added: Alexandre Texier was on the ice at the CN Sports Complex, which is excellent news to start the day.
"Very nice sequence from Texier, Caufield and Dach.

Worth noting that they're rotating with Suzuki during practice."

- Patrick Guillet
After murkier days surrounding his situation, seeing him skating puts even more pressure on the decisions that are coming.
Martin St-Louis doesn't have fifty chairs, and the NHL doesn't cut you any slack when you have too many bodies.
On paper, some cases speak loudly just by looking at the production.
Laine scored 20 goals and recorded 33 points in 52 games in 2024-2025.
Dach, for his part, has 48 goals and 128 points in his career.
Texier already has 7 goals and 16 points this season, and totals 107 points in his career.
That's where decision time truly arrives.
You can win a game and be happy, but you also have to manage the next one.
And for the Habs, when the infirmary empties, the lineup becomes a real headache.
