We have a last-minute announcement from the Montreal Canadiens involving young forward Ivan Demidov.
The Habs have just confirmed that Demidov will NOT be in uniform today..
After a brilliant performance last night against the Winnipeg Jets' prospects, Demidov is getting a well-deserved day off this Sunday.

Personally, I like the decision to rest Demidov. No need to risk an injury for the young player.
On the other hand, it's strange that the Canadiens announced this news at the very last minute!
That's what many fans are criticizing right now, as you can see in the comments.

Some spectators bought tickets specifically to see Demidov in action, only to learn at the last second that it unfortunately won't happen.
The frustration and disappointment are understandable, but I'll emphasize that I'm 100% in agreement with the Habs' decision to rest Demidov.
I just think they could have confirmed it a bit earlier..
