We have some sad breaking news to report. According to journalist Marc Antoine Godin of Radio-Canada, the Montreal Canadiens have reportedly decided to part ways with Quebec-born forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard.
It was surely not an easy decision for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton, but it's the one they made.
It Would Be Over for Rafaël Harvey-Pinard with the Montreal Canadiens
Management has reportedly decided not to extend him a qualifying offer.
The confirmation is expected within the next few minutes.
It's heartbreaking, because RHP is such a good person and such an exemplary athlete, and his NHL career had started so well, but injuries seem to have completely derailed everything.
Rafaël Harvey-Pinard will test the free agent market on July 1st (tomorrow).

Let's truly hope that another NHL team is willing to give him a new opportunity.
He can still be very proud of what he accomplished within the Montreal Canadiens organization.
He tallied 19 points in 40 games this season with the Laval Rocket, along with 3 points in 13 playoff games.
More details to follow.
Once again, we sincerely wish him the very best for the rest of his career.
We won't soon forget our "Lavallagher."
