BREAKING: Kent Hughes and the Canadiens Have Announced a Long-Term Extension
Over the last few minutes, as we reported to you, the Montreal Canadiens announced a significant contract extension for Assistant GM John Sedgwick.
However, there is another important element to note from this announcement.
John Sedgwick named as GM of the Rocket by Kent Hughes
See the excerpt in question:
"In addition to retaining his duties with the Canadiens, Sedgwick will now assume the role of General Manager of the Laval Rocket, in the American Hockey League." - Montreal Canadiens
He therefore succeeds Kent Hughes, who has been the GM of the Rocket for about two years.
It's probably a very good thing to see Hughes delegate a bit and have a bit less responsibility with the Rocket, and in addition, it has allowed for a nice promotion for Sedgwick, an increasingly important member for the Montreal Canadiens organization.
"The Canadiens announce they have signed a multi-year contract extension with Assistant General Manager John Sedgwick and have also named him General Manager of the Laval Rocket." - Via Priyanta Emrith
An important clarification we wanted to make.
Congratulations, John!
