Since the end of the Montreal Canadiens' season, some players' names have started to circulate in the trade rumors, like Josh Anderson.

Among the other names that are circulating, other than Jeff Petry, we also find more and more the name of Christian Dvorak.

Notably, there's Montreal Hockey Now columnist Jimmy Murphy, who believes he would be on the trade market.

It must be said that Dvorak has not had the hoped-for start to the season. His level of play was clearly not up to his potential and on top of that, he battled several injuries.

However, when he finally returned to 100% in March, he showed the kind of player he is and the kind of player the Habs acquired on September 4th for a first and second round pick.

From mid-March on (and until the end of the season), he did very well, with 17 points in 22 games.

THE END FOR DVORAK IN MONTREAL?

According to what Jimmy Murphy has heard, Kent Hughes is currently trying to trade Dvorak.

The reason is that the partial no-trade clause (attached to Dvorak's contract) will take effect in one year. Hughes has a year to trade him more freely.

Please note that Dvorak has three years left on his contract, worth 4.45 million per year.

With the end of the season he had, his value has increased and the Hughes/Gorton duo could take advantage of this. They have often said that they want to give themselves room to maneuver under the NHL salary cap.

ANOTHER SOURCE COMES FORWARD

In addition to Murphy, there is now also Mathias Brunet of La Presse who believes that Habs forward Dvorak could change his address this summer (to reduce the payroll).

According to Brunet's and Murphy's information, several Western teams are reportedly inquiring about trying to acquire Christian Dvorak, at the most recent trade deadline.

"Dvorak is reportedly generating interest in the Western Association" - Brunet

The interest is there, and as is often the case, discussions that began at the trade deadline could very well resume just before the draft.

Dvorak, 26, has 11 goals and 22 assists (33 points) in 56 games with the CH this season.

If it was your decision, would you trade him?
