Trade market: Jake Allen could go the same way as Lehkonen as Hughes' phone keeps ringing

With just a few days to go before the start of the Habs' training camp, the team's number one goalie position belongs to veteran Jake Allen.
With the absence of Carey Price, the number 34 should see a lot of rubber during the season and there are even talks between the Habs management for a contract extension.
Still, as reported by J.B. Gagné of GoHabsGo.com, Kent Hughes would still have the option to trade his goalie.
At least that's what tipster Marco D'Amico of Montreal Hockey Now mentioned in a recent article, and that Allen's situation right now bears an uncanny resemblance to Artturi Lehkonen's situation just before the trade deadline last winter.
"With so many teams continuing to inquire about Allen's availability, our source believes the Canadiens are weighing the pros and cons of extending the 32-year-old goalie, much like they did with Artturi Lehkonen at the last trade deadline."
D'Amico added that it would be surprising if a decision occurred on this matter before the season starts, but if Kent Hughes could ever receive an attractive offer for his goalie, he will most likely listen.
This season, Jake Allen is playing the last year of his contract with a salary of $2.875 million and if he has a solid season, it is likely that he will be in demand at the trade deadline, unless of course he is able to sign a new deal with the Habs.
